Seated Straight Arm Twist

Seated torso rotation with arms straight to target the obliques and core stability.

How to do it

  1. Sit with knees bent, feet either flat or off the ground.
  2. Extend arms straight forward, clasping hands.
  3. Lean back slightly with a neutral spine.
  4. Rotate torso to one side, arms following movement.
  5. Return to center and repeat to opposite side.

Form cues

  • Keep arms straight
  • Brace your core
  • Rotate shoulders not just arms
  • Don't round your lower back

Common mistakes

  • Using just arms instead of rotating the torso
  • Rounding the spine
  • Moving too quickly or without control

Breathing

Exhale as you twist, inhale returning to center.
