Lying Scissor Kick

A core and hip flexor exercise performed while lying flat, alternately raising and lowering legs in a scissor-like motion.

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with legs extended and arms at your sides.
  2. Lift both legs a few inches off the ground, keeping them straight.
  3. Alternate raising one leg while lowering the other in a scissor motion.
  4. Continue to alternate legs in a controlled manner.
  5. Keep your head and shoulders relaxed, core engaged.

  • Keep core braced
  • Move legs with control
  • Don't touch floor
  • Point toes

Common mistakes

  • Arching lower back
  • Moving too fast
  • Letting legs touch ground

Breathing

Exhale as legs rise, inhale as legs lower.
