Lever Lying Chest Press

A plate-loaded machine press mimicking the bench press to target the entire chest safely.

How to do it

  1. Lie supine on the machine bench.
  2. Grip the handles firmly, elbows bent.
  3. Engage chest and press handles forward and up.
  4. Fully extend arms without locking out elbows.
  5. Slowly return to starting position.

Form cues

  • Keep feet flat on floor
  • Don't overextend elbows
  • Press evenly with both arms
  • Squeeze chest at top

Common mistakes

  • Letting shoulders roll forward
  • Lifting lower back off bench
  • Using too much weight
  • Allowing wrists to bend

Breathing

Exhale as you press up, inhale as you lower down.
